Savings Habit Sitting

The Savings Habit Sitting is the usual first appointment. For ninety minutes we reconstruct a recent ordinary week — not a festival week and not a crisis week — until the savings habit is visible as a day, an amount, and a pouch.

Who it is for

People who have never kept a monthly sheet, or who tried a notebook that died after two paydays. Market vendors, new salaried staff, and couples combining income for the first time book this before they book a review.

What you leave with

A one-page habit note: the day money arrives, the amount that moves to savings before other spending, the pouch that holds it, and the one leak that mixed two jobs together.

Inside the hour

  • A walk through seven ordinary days of money leaving the household
  • A habit note written in the language you read
  • Names for the pouches you already use, including jars, tins, and bank accounts
  • A suggested date for the first Monthly Plan Review

Handled by other trades

  • A full-year savings target
  • A cash map of every earner, shop, and seasonal clump — that is a separate sitting
  • Any product sale

Who sits with you

Aminah Lateh takes first habit sittings. She prefers to see the week before anyone talks about a yearly figure.

The course of the sitting

  1. Pick an ordinary week We choose a recent week without a wedding, a hospital bill, or Hari Raya shopping, so the habit is not hidden by a special event.
  2. Follow the cash Wage, stall takings, a transfer from a relative, and shop credit are listed in the order they happened. Mixed drawers get their own sentence.
  3. Name the pouch Whatever already holds savings — a tin, a cooperative share, a gold-shop deposit, a bank account — is named. If savings have nowhere to sit, we choose a pouch before we choose an amount.
  4. Write the habit One day, one amount, one action. The note is short enough to keep inside the pouch itself.

Before you come

  • Think of one recent ordinary week before you come
  • Bring a wage slip, a tally of stall takings, or simply a memory you trust
  • Leave cards and passwords at home

Limits we keep

  • This sitting writes a habit, not a twelve-month target.
  • Households with several earners and a shop usually need a Household Cash Map as well.
  • The habit note is rewritten at the first monthly review if the week we studied turns out to have been unusual.

The fee is 1,800 baht, single sitting, settled at the office. Figures for every sitting are also set out on the fees page.
